I really enjoyed watching this film. It was shot very well, and in a fun way. I would watch more tennis if it were shot the way it was in this movie. That goes for all sports, the way live sports are filmed you don’t get these cool angles, etc. The soundtrack was super fun and again, please score all sports games with Trent Reznor. Zendaya is an actual treasure. I think the acting was really good. I liked that it was non-linear, it reminded me of telling stories about my relationship traumas and friends being like “Wait was this before or after…?” and it’s like “It doesn’t matter, it happened in the repetitive self-abuse/sabotage timeline I’m eternally stuck in” It wasn’t overall a good film but it had some really interesting elements but the writing felt like a third revision that maybe had a couple more drafts to go. It’s extremely sexy tennis and sexual tension. Sexual tennision.

The elderly women watching next to me were the most hilarious offensive but compassionate audience members. When the boys kissed they audibly said “that’s gay” “what are they doing?” When Art said he was gonna retire they said “that’s good. good for him.” And you would’ve thought their own child had broke their leg when Zendaya went down. “It’s gonna be okay baby.” “Poor thing.” “She must be so scared!” I sneezed and they both said “Bless you, sweetheart.”
The more I think about this film, I think it’s an experience film. You don’t need to see it in the theaters, but it is a fun wild horny game/set/match.
Fun IMBD Trivia:
IMDB Trivia is my favorite because the definition of “trivia” is very broad.
That makes sense. Basketball is my favorite sport and more and more appreciate the choreography of the sport, but it’s hard to see that in standard sports film.
This is very important and yeah for this film for providing that!
This is my favorite kind of IMDB trivia, the “they were in this film with this guy and also…”
All in all, a great distraction film from the garbage fire the world is today.
Thanks for reading! Pass the dutchie and spread love ❤️

I loved this movie (and I am NOT like the elderly ladies seated next to you haha!). I loved that it was a contemporary story that I could relate to (nothing with flying dragons please) with attractive and interesting actors (I happen to love seeing faces on screen - interesting cheekbones, eyes etc) and that the film had well-written scenes between adults . I recommended this to my film faculty at the university for possible scene study scenes for our young actors.
